If you're headed to Sioux City for work—whether you’re a wind tech, traveling nurse, or part of a crew supporting CF Industries, Tyson, or one of the local hospitals—chances are you’re working hard and living on a per diem.
But are you getting the most out of it?
At Stay SOMNI, we specialize in furnished housing for professionals on assignment for 30 days or more. Whether you're staying one month or six, we make it easy to stay comfortable, productive, and on budget.
---
What Is a Per Diem, Anyway?
A per diem is your daily allowance for meals, lodging, and incidentals like parking or laundry. Your company may reimburse it or pay it out upfront—but either way, you're responsible for how you spend it.
The good news? Smart choices can stretch it further.
---
Hotels vs. Furnished Apartments in Sioux City
Most people default to hotels for convenience—but that convenience comes at a cost.
A typical hotel stay for 30 days adds up fast
Stay SOMNI? One clear monthly rate, and an even better rate for longer stays.
---
Why Kitchens Matter (and Save You Serious Cash)
Your meal per diem covers a set amount each day—but if you’re eating out for every meal, that goes fast:
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on the go add up quickly.
With a fully equipped kitchen, many of our guests cut that number in half:
Cook your own eggs, bacon, coffee
Pack leftovers or make a sandwich
Prep hearty meals in the evening
More savings. Better meals. Way more comfort.
